Dr. Phillips has over fifteen years of experience in various clinical settings. She has worked with patients from infants to geriatrics in both diagnostic audiology, vestibular/balance testing and hearing aids. Dr. Phillips has a focused interest in pediatrics and the early detection of hearing loss in children and adolescents. She understands how critical early detection is in this population due to the negative impact hearing loss can have on their academic, social and behavioral development, as well as its impact on their families, loved ones and significant others.

Ms. Royer currently serves as a Board of Trustee member and Chairperson for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of the Treasure Coast, Inc. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from the University of Northern Iowa and earned his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Walker worked as a research assistant in the tinnitus clinic of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Prior to receiving his doctorate, Dr. Walker completed a clinical fellowship at the Mayo School of Health Sciences in the Florida Mayo Clinic, in Jacksonville, Florida. While at the Florida Mayo Clinic, he treated patients in the Audiology Clinic of the Department of Otolaryngology and assisted with audiological and vestibular research and later presented the research findings at national conferences and meetings.

While obtaining her doctorate, Dr. Wellons served as Co-President for UNC’s Student Academy of Audiology and was selected to be a trainee in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program. As a trainee she received additional education and experience in working with special populations and as part of a multidisciplinary team. During her 4th year externship, Dr. Wellons worked in educational audiology in North Carolina, where she had the opportunity to work with children in pre-school through high school.

Dr. Wellons is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and has her Certification of Clinical Competence from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is currently in the two year process of obtaining her Pediatric Audiology Specialty Certification through the American Board of Audiology.
